The Vendor Address Book can The VMS Address Books allow you to keep typical PIM information, like phone numbers, addresses, notes, pictures, etc. Some entries in your address book will be your Vendors and can be appropriately segregated.
If you include an addressee in the Vendor List, that Vendor will be available for generating informal shopping lists, Purchase Orders, assign Labor Log billing, assignment in the Engine-Component module and/or a Contractor in the Tasks Module. If you attempt to delete a Vendor that is contained in any business critical records you'll be prompted to deactivate the Vendor, making it available in the Standard Address book and eligible for re-activation at any time
Record finding is simplified by the use of Filters. In this example the records are first sorted by the Book Type to eliminate clutter when locating an entry.
Notice that this example shows a button named Inventory QuickView in bold type. This means that the Vendor Address Book was invoked from an Inventory module and is holding the memory of that record for future referral (rotation). Click on the button and you'll return to the referring record in the appropriate module.
To begin a new book click on Add Record. You may make as may book “types” as you like and define them any way you wish. Make a book for the Engineer, Master, Owner, etc.
You may write a memo by clicking on the Memo Writer button. This will automatically place the current addressee in the To: box of the Memo Writer.
You may associate any number of graphics, documents or hyperlinks to the VMS Address Books. In this case a picture of the infamous and incompetent harbor pilot shown, but you might also include Mr. Neuman's conviction record, a link to the company's web site, a link to the company's pdf catalog, etc..
